Indigenous Development Day 21st September
On a very hot Sunday morning at Valentine Sports Park players, parents and officials from Central Sydney Indigenous Community arrived for a development day.
Players went through sessions coached by ex NSL player Claudio Canossa, former Joey Jané Talcevski and James Rankine from Football NSW High Performance Unit.
Parent's and officials didn't have it too easy either as they went through a referee's update with Steve Courtney followed by an injury and strapping session with Lorenzo Campagna, State Team Trainer. Alex Butt, the Assistant Technical Director at Football NSW then conducted a Grassroots coaching course.
At the completion of these activities, everyone got together and enjoyed some lunch under the trees where Rick Welsh presented some of his Under 7's with their club trophies.
This day was made possible by the collective efforts of Rick Welsh from the Marrickville Red Devils, Ricky Lyons, the Aboriginal Project Officer for the Department of Arts, Sport & Recreation and also Norm Boardman, Technical Director at Football NSW.
