Gan turning heads in the TeleChoice Premier League

But the Sutherland Sharks attacking midfielder is a smart lad with his head screwed on and reckons: ?It?s always good to hear the A-League scouts are at matches and to be mentioned with clubs but I don?t look too far ahead in that respect and I cannot live on speculation.?
Old words for such a young head but then again this is a ld who is at University studying for his Bachelor of Business degree from which he hopes, if all other avenues turn out to be dead ends, will see him enter the realm of Events Management, in which he is majoring.
The former Marton Hammers junior from Engadine is also not afraid to make waves when saying: ?Teams are more afraid of us than we are of them this season so let them all ?bring it on? and we?ll see what happens.
?Anyone can win of course,? he determines: ?but we are playing really well this year and in one-off matches like a Grand Final it?s the best team on the day as opposed to the season.
?We will be trying for the ?treble? this year though ? Minor Premiership, Grand Final winners and Tiger Turf Cup winners.
?That would be awesome and we do owe Sydney Olympic (the only team to beat the Sharks at home this season when in the final of the Johnny Warren Cup) one I reckon,” he adds smiling a very cheeky smile.
Quick to spread the praise among his team mates, Gan reports that it was his father who actually gave him his passion for the game: ?My dad (Michael) used to take me to the park just for a kick about and I loved it right from the first kick.
?I started with the Marton Hammers in Engadine and played with them from U/6 to U/11 and since then I have been with Sutherland.
?It?s been great and what I have learnt from Bomber (Brian Brown) and Cliffy (Cliff Pointer) this year has helped me immensely and I have to say I have been very lucky with everything, but a few more goals wouldn?t go amiss even though I have got a few this year.?
As a parting note to all teams out there he adds (semi-seriously): ?We are waiting for you, bring it on.?
A cheerful lad and great fun but the winners streak is never far from the fore so be warned, I think he won?t be very happy if the Sharks don?t ?do the treble? perhaps but one thing is for sure, his football light is shining brightly and who can tell where it take him?
And for the record, his terrific performances for the Sharks have earned him a call-up and a contract with A-League Under 20 outfit Sydney FC ? There?s a lot more to see from the young whiz from the Shire.
