And it was their twin strike force of Booke and Soane that once again did the damage, scoring in the 34th and 45th minutes respectively to give their team the points.
At Arlington Oval on Saturday, Dulwich Hill moved above Blacktown Spartans and into fourth spot on the ladder by beating them 3-2. Corte was the only scorer of the first half, giving Dully the lead on 28 minutes. Delaney equalized for Blacktown in the 58th minute, but Paradisis restored Dully?s lead just two minutes later with his 11th goal of the season. Dully skipper James made it 3-1 in the 73rd minute, before Infanti pulled a goal back for the Spartans only a minute later.
Despite the frenzied finish, there were no more goals and it finished 3-2 to the home side, moving Dulwich Hill to 28 points with games in hand.
At Cook Park, Mounties FC continued their surge up the ladder with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Hurstville ZFC. Baldock opened the scoring for the home side after just 11 minutes, before two second half goals by Lloyd finshed off proceedings. The victory pushes Mounties to 26 points, just the solitary point outside the top five.
Spirit FC moved ten points clear at the top with a 4-0 away drubbing of UNSW. Backing up after their emphatic 5-0 demolition of Stanmore Hawks on Thursday night, Spirit got going with a 20th minute penalty, converted by Cunningham. Papanicolaou scored a brace on 68 and 87 minutes, before Nicolaou finished off the rout in injury time.
Inter Lions have all but surrendered the minor premiership, dropping three vital points in a 0-3 reverse at Concord Oval. Sullivan put the Scorpions on their way with a goal on 40 minutes, before Farac (69?) and Popovic (80?) gave the visitors a valuable three points in their march towards the final five.
In the final match of the round, Hurstville City Minotuars and Stanmore Hawks drew 0-0 at Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre, consolidating the Hawks third position on the ladder.
This week?s big match is at Concord Oval where second placed Inter Lions take on competition front runners Spirit FC on Sunday at 3pm.
