Bonnyrigg clash with Granville and Parramatta meet Liverpool in an enthralling match-up. There?s also a cross-town grudge match between St George and Rockdale, while bottom three sides Mount Druitt, Uni and Fairfield have their chances against finals hopefuls Central Coast, Fraser Park and Northern Tigers respectively.
Super League frontrunners Bonnyrigg White Eagles know they have a huge game ahead of them in visiting fourth-placed Granville Rage at Garside Park on Saturday night (7.30pm kick-off). The White Eagles left it late to record a 1-0 win over the Rage in their last encounter and Granville has enjoyed some good results against Bonnyrigg in the past. With plenty to play for, this won?t be easy for either side to get points form.
A rejuvenated Northern Tigers travel to Norford Park on Saturday night to take on last-placed Fairfield City Lions (7.30pm). The Tigers had a convincing 4-1 win over Fraser Park last week to reignite their finals hopes; they were also comfortable 3-0 winners over Fairfield in their earlier encounter. The Lions will be desperate for points but have not beaten Northern in five Super League fixtures.
On Sunday afternoon, top-three sides PCYC Parramatta Eagles and Bossy Liverpool go head-to-head at Melita Stadium (3pm kick-off). With a potential home final up for grabs, both sides will be keen for victory, but Liverpool have the higher mountain to climb as they haven?t beaten Parramatta in three Super League meetings to date, including a 0-3 loss the last time they met.
Neighbours Rockdale City Suns and St George Saints battle it out at Ilinden Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon (3pm), with a finals position dangling in front of both clubs. The Saints are yet to beat the Suns in Super League but the two teams produced a six-goal ripper in round nine, all goals coming in a 40-minute deluge. This can only be enticing for football fans as both teams go for broke again this weekend.
Fraser Park welcomes a desperate Sydney University to Fraser Park on Sunday afternoon (3pm). The home side lost badly last week and will be out to reclaim their top-five spot against a Uni outfit that is somewhat of a Fraser Park voodoo. Uni won their round nine encounter 4-1 and have only lost one Super League clash to Fraser Park ? a 3-2 result more than three years ago. Five other meetings have ended in draws, four of them 2-2.
Central Coast Lightning tackles Mount Druitt Town Rangers at Popondetta Park on Sunday afternoon (3pm) in a crucial match for both sides. Central Coast is staring at a top-five position, while Mount Druitt is staring at the possibility of relegation. The Rangers are yet to topple the Lightning in Super League, but they held them to a 1-1 draw up the coast in round nine.
