Eagles Winter Super League Premiers for 2008

The match of the season against the Central Coast Lightening witnessed a stunning comeback from the home side with Eagles midfielder Nikola Zonjic striking a ?blinder? from 25-metres out leaving the game locked 2-2 at full-time.
It was Central Coast who leapt off the blocks fastest as Forsberg was among the chances early on when he struck a sensational header off a corner only for the Eagles? goalkeeper Daniel Holmes to deny the effort with a brave save.
A minute later Forsberg again connected to a header, however this time he was off target. Lightening striker Koelma was also causing problems for the Eagles defence with his quick speed and dashing runs.
Despite the good start it was Bonnyrigg who struck first when Domenic Cutri connected to a sensational cross from Leo Carle, slotting away a simple tap-in to give the Premiers an edge early on.
However, despite the early goal, Central Coast scrapped right back in it with a sensational cross from Forsberg finding Woodcock in the middle to divert a perfect header into the goal and stunning the Eagles defence.
Central Coast struck again, this time forward Koelma with his blistering speed. The striker found himself one-on-one against Eagles? ?keeper Daniel Holmes, nicely slotting the ball to the ?keeper?s right and giving his side a comfortable 2-1 lead at half-time.
The second-half was dominated by the home side and they were unlucky not to take all three points at full-time. Daniel Willoughby made a sensational run down the right side slotting a perfect pass for Goran Subara to tap-in; however his shot sailed over the bar.
In the 60? minute Bonnyrigg was again in scoring position, once more the chance went begging with the ball again sailing over the bar. The home side was frustrated but they held there nerve in the dying minutes as an 86? minute thunderbolt from Nikola Zonjic gave the home side a well deserved equaliser and a firing conclusion to help kick-start their finals? campaign starting next weekend.
