On behalf of the Cancer Council, the leading cancer charity in New South Wales, I would like to thank you for your amazing support with our new initiative Call To Arms 2008. Your support and dedication has been invaluable and really helped us to promote awareness to many about men?s cancers and raise valuable funds.
As Football NSW already knows, this was the first year of this brand new campaign which has been a resounding success. This is all thanks to your support along with other sporting bodies that also helped us promote the campaign. Football NSW clubs has helped to raise vital funds for the one in two men who will be diagnosed with cancer by the time they are 85.
I thought that you may appreciate some overall information on all the soccer clubs that participated in Call To Arms:
? 20 clubs registered
? 382 teams took part
? Clubs that have banked so far have raised collectively $19,490.10
? The highest fundraiser in the whole campaign was the Southern Districts Soccer Football Association, a cheque for $14,000 is on its way!
Football NSW should be proud of all their clubs fantastic fundraising efforts ? as you know, every dollar raised allows us to take yet another step forward in the fight against cancer.
Cancer is one of the biggest health threats facing our community but with your help we can build a cancer smart community and defeat this disease. Your funds will assist us to fund vital research into cancer, provide services to health professional and support people with cancer.
Thank you once again for your support of the 2008 Call To Arms – we look forward to working with you again next year.
