The teams dominance in the NSW Super League and the huge supporter base has seen the Eagles success grow and its financial position improve to such a state that it will ensure that the club becomes a dominant powerhouse in its first year back in the TeleChoice Premier League.
The team commenced pre-season training on the 1st of November and has kept the same coaching staff in coach Blagoja Kulevski, assistant coach Frank Bragias and manager Dejan Gajic.
The club went on an aggressive recruitment drive to ensure success in season 2009 with many new signings including welcoming back two old former juniors in ‘midfield general’ Milorad Simonovic from Sydney Olympic and the ‘defensive rock’ Tayfun Devrimol from Bankstown City Lions.
In addition to these two signings, former PCYC Parramatta Eagles players in striker Fredrick Graham and Nathan Rivera will add much needed attacking options from the flanks and upfront.
Eric Nyamekye, an imposing Ghanaian striker who is a virtual unknown in the competition, has been recruited and has been making a huge impression in pre-season training.
Former Penrith-Nepean United striker Almir Dizdaric completes the trio of new strikers recruited along with former player in wing-back Drazen Janjic.
With the addition of these seven new players to add to the strong core of players from last season, it should ensure that the club achieves its minimum goal of a finals series spot in 2009.
The team kicks off its pre-season trial program on Sunday 21st of December at Bonnyrigg Sports Ground against fellow TeleChoice Premier League rivals A.P.I.A.-Leichhardt Tigers with U20s kicking off at 4:30pm and first grade 6:30pm.
The full Squad for the Bonnyrigg White Eagles is as follows: Ali Akbal, Nenad Vekic, Almir Dizdaric, Daniel Willoughby, David Petrovic, Domenic Cutri, Drazen Janjic, Eric Nyamekye, Fredrick Graham, Ilkay Gurbuz, Mark D’Alessandro, Milan Zoric, Milorad Simonovic, Nathan Rivera, Nikola Zonjic, Paul Cottee, Steven Bozinovski, Tayfun Devrimol
