Newcastle Jets snap up PCYC Parramatta Eagles’ rising star
Fabian joined PCYC Parramatta Eagles whilst still in premier league in 2007 (age 15) and was quickly identified as a talented player. He played regularly with the U18?s and was awarded the 2007 footballer of the year award for the club.
When in 2008 the club was relegated to Super Youth League, Fabian refused offers from Premier League clubs to remain with PCYC Parramatta Eagles and join their U18?s as Captain. Jason Falzon (first team coach) identified the need to further develop Fabian and after 5 weeks of playing for both 18?s and 20?s, promoted him to U 20?s on a permanent basis.
By the end of the season Fabian had played in the 18?s, 20?s and was given an opportunity with the first team (whilst still 16). Towards the end of the season he was rewarded by being offered a first team contract for the 2009 season and was offered trials in Europe.
As a club dedicated to youth development, PCYC Parramatta Eagles made recommendations to a number of A-League clubs regarding his talents and on his return Fabian was offered trials by the Newcastle Jets, Sydney FC and flown to Perth Glory.
After reviewing all options he decided to take up the offer with Newcastle Jets for the rest of this Season.
