Demons show promise

The new-look Demons ceded fitness and cohesion to Manly and when they conceded three goals, there seemed to be a lot of work ahead before the start of the Premier League season.
The two-goal comeback suggested that although work is needed, the talent was there for hard work to gain its reward.
Coach Ken Schembri has retained the youthful core from last season’s squad and midfielder Kain Rastall and defender Damien Foxe have returned after two-season stints with Marconi Stallions.
Defender and former Stallions captain Luke Casserly has joined them.
So has former Sydney Olympic goalkeeper Michael Herbert and Penrith Nepean United midfielder Luke Boyd.
The Demons will play their second trial this Saturday against NSW Super League club Granville Rage at Gabbie Stadium. The grade 20 will start at 5pm and the first grade at 7pm. Entry is free.
