Fairfield Bulls v Gazy Lansvale
Fairfield Bulls have secured another three-points in what was a tough fought 4-2 victory against Gazy Lansvale on Sunday afternoon at Hajduk Stadium. The home side were on the back foot in the first-half with Gazy looking to frustrate the Bulls side through some dominating counter-attacking football. Captain N. Alemic was leading the Lansvale midfield and linked-up well with Gazy forward M. Jirjnazi in the early stages. Fairfield Bulls looked sloppy in attack and their defence wasn?t much better after a M. Jirjnazi header broke the home side?s defence in the 3? minute to put Glazy 1-0 in-front.
The Bulls responded immediately with a thunderbolt volley from S. Quattrome 25-metres out, but the attempt was well saved by Gazy goalkeeper A. Kurlovic. That was followed by another chance in the 8? minute when N. Hanna clinched onto a header off a corner only to find his effort cleared off the line. The Bulls were beginning to hold much more possession, however Gazy?s defence was solid in the first-half.
In the 16? minute Gazy punished the Bulls defence once again however this time it was creativity that produced the away side?s second of the afternoon. M. Jirjnazi made a thundering run down the right, sliding a neat ball to H. Merdanovic who back heeled it to an unmarked F. Wilson to nicely slot past Bulls shot-stopper K. Kando for a 2-0 lead. Bulls were looking in all sorts and were beginning to panic in the middle of the field. However, despite the pressure from the away side, Bulls playmaker S. Dawd had other ideas calmly slotting the ball passed Gazy keeper in the 31? minute to give the home side something to look forward to at the break.
Gazy Lansvale should have wrapped up the points in the 49? minute when they were awarded a penalty. The first effort by D. Imamovic was well placed to the left of the ?keeper however it was asked to be re-taken due to an infringement by a Gazy player. The second attempt sailed over the crossbar and the Bulls still had a lifeline. The home side took full advantage of the lost chances for the away side and it all began through the likes of substitute N. Ilanor when in the 74? minute he passed three Gazy players and slotted the ball nicely to the ?keeper?s left to give his side the 3-2 edge.
Gazy skipper N. Alemic was tiring and so were his team-mates, despite the great effort shown on the day they couldn?t stop the Bulls side scoring a fourth when S. Mayayalo tapped in the ball into an open goal in the 89? minute. The goal was scored when the Gazy defence thought play had halted due to an injured player on the ground. It was a tiring last 20 minutes for the away side, with the Bulls side proving too good in the second half to hold a 4-2 win and gain maximum points.

Round Three Review
Prospect United has secured another home win, defeating Bathurst 4-2 on Saturday afternoon at William Lawson Reserve. Robbie Portelli opened scoring in the 20? minute followed by A. David goal in the 27? minute. The home side were dominating the game and took total control after S. Crampton scored the side?s third in the 35? minute. Bathurst got a goal back through G. Dowling just before the break to give the away side some chance. However, the second-half was dominated by the home side and the result was sealed in 51? minute through J. McLeay. Bathurst did manage a goal back again, G. Dowling this time striking in the 72? minute, but it was just a consolation as the home side collected all three points keeping their 2009 season on an undefeated streak.
Hakoah claimed all three-points away to Springwood on Saturday afternoon at Summerhayes Park; the home-side looked convincing after opening the scoring through D. Fillingham in the 14? minute. Hakoah rallied from that point to take control and equalised ten minutes later through a B. Robertson goal in the 24? minute, leaving the two sides locked at the break. The second period began in favour of the away side, Hakoah taking the lead after B. Robertson converted his second goal of the game. J. Mundell then made it 3-1 for the away side taking complete control of the game in the 60? minute. The home side rallied one more time in the 75? minute putting a goal back by P. Henderson to make it 3-2. Despite the effort from the home-side the experience of J. Mundell slotted away a fourth goal for Hakoah side, giving them a 4-2 win and maximum points for the round.
Luddenham United and Sydney Cedars played out an entertaining 4-4 draw at Punchbowl Oval on Sunday afternoon. Coach Vel Dudaroc was pleased with the performance however he believes his side should have taken maximum points. ?It was a great game to watch, however we should have at least won by a two goal margin with the way we were playing today I thought we missed out on gaining all three points.?
Gladesville have continued their home form by dismantling tough opposition Roosters FC 3-1 at Magdala Park on Sunday afternoon. Roosters FC were awarded a gift in the 20? minute through an own goal and had the advantage in the first-half. However, after the break the home side?s attacking capabilities were put on show with Kabara scoring the equaliser in the 50? minute. Lean Longbottom scored the second in the 70? minute and Adam Gatt all but sealed the victory in the 85? minute to give Gladesville another impressive home win.
Hawkesbury have continued their sensational away form defeating Camden tigers 3-1 at Ron Dine Reserve on Sunday afternoon. Joel Cook scored for the opening side in the 28? minute giving them a lead at the half. However the away side broke through the Tigers defence in the 54? minute when R. Charles slotted away the equaliser and then added a second a minute later in the 55? minute to take the game away from the home side. E. George scored a third for Hawkesbury to give the away side a 3-1 win and maximum points.
Colo Colo defeated White City 2-0 at the Bonnyrigg Sports Ground on Sunday afternoon, the home-side started the better of the two however it was the away side that struck in the first half through Sanchez. A second was added in the last ten minutes of the game as Gil converted a one-on-one with the City goalkeeper to give the Wanderers maximum points. Club Secretary Pedro Gonzalez stated that it was a much better performance this week by the side: ?I thought we were a lot better prepared physically in this game and I was really impressed with how the boys played even though we were missing three of our usual starters, it was a sensational effort.?
