TigerTurf transformation underway at Canberra’s premier football venue

The ACT Goverment in conjunction with Capital Football takes a step towards the future with the installation of TigerTurf Soccer Real.

This drought proofing initiative will see the third generation synthetic surface be installed for the first time in a sporting venue in ACT and surrounding regions and local players will significantly benefit for years to come.

TigerTurf Soccer Real brings international standard football pitch quality to recreational players.  A key element in the success of Soccer Real is the specifically produced yarn.  It produces a pitch that performs like a freshly watered, high quality natural turf, without the need for any water.  Players’ skills and enjoyment are enhanced as the surface is more consistent and safe.

The surface will be field tested to FIFA 2 Star on completion which means it is designed to basically mirror the playing characteristics of professional football and FIFA final round competitions and top UEFA competitions can be played at the venue.

Works are scheduled to be complete by July 2009.
