Juicy Tiger Turf Cup Quarter-Finals matches set

In what?s been billed as the clash of the quarter-finals, last season?s Tiger Turf Cup winners Bankstown City Lions travel to Seymour Shaw to tackle Sutherland Sharks which should be a classic encounter between two evenly contested sides.
Both teams have met twice this year with Bankstown taking out the first clash 4-2 at Jensen Park in round 3 before defeating the Shire squad again in round 14 in a thrilling 4-3 win.
Bankstown City Lions player/manager Peter Tsekenis realizes the importance of the game and will be pumping up his chargers in the hope of securing a semi-final spot.
Tsekenis? squad has been in good form of late with the likes of Shane Webb, Brett Studman, George Nohra, Greg Owens, Daniel Severino and top scorer Salameh Hussein who will all be out to ruin the Sharks? party at home.
Robbie Stanton?s men will be no pushover side and having suffered two defeats in the TeleChoice Premier League season by the Lions, revenge will certainly be on the cards.
40-year-old Sharks skipper George Souris will certainly be looking forward to securing a semi-finals spot and will hope that the likes of defenders Michael Katz, and Ben Spruce, midfielders Panny Nikas, Nick Stavroulakis, Jim Bakis and the ever present Brad Boardman will be on song on the evening.
At the Bonnyrigg Sports Centre, Brian ?Bomber? Brown?s Bonnyrigg White Eagles will face fellow TeleChoice Premier League rivals Manly United in yet another exciting match-up.
The Eagles have hit red-hot form and will want to continue their impressive run in the Tiger Turf Cup but will be met by some stiff opposition in the form of Phil Moss? Manly United.
Blacktown City Demons have been drawn against the only Super League side left in the Cup Fraser Park in what should be a tough match-up for the two teams.
The Demons destroyed Super League outfit Granville Rage 7-3 in their round 4 clash while Fraser Park defeated State League Two outfit Camden Tigers 1-0 in extra time.
Ken Schembri?s vibrant and predominately young squad will be on their guard when they face Fraser Park who have struggled thus far in the Super League and are currently occupying last position on the ladder. A victory over the Demons though would certainly bring smiles to the club coached by Ramsin Shamon.
Finally, Penrith Nepean United are set to take on Wollongong Community FC in the final match of the Tiger Turf Cup quarter-finals.
Penrith Nepean United knocked out Super League side Rockdale City Suns during their round 4 clash in penalty shoot-outs while the South Coast club defeated Sydney Tigers 2-0 to reach the Quarter-Final stages of the prestigious tournament.
All Quarter-Finalists receive $1,500 for reaching it this far but all eight teams will have their eyes firmly on the prize as $16,000 and the prestigious Cup will be up for grabs in the team that takes out the 2009 Tiger Turf Cup.
