Brian Brown?s view from the top

?It sounds strange but when you look at our U/18s and U/20s they are both bottom of their respective leagues even though we are starting to travel quite well so we need to get them moving up and avoid relegation through the Club Championship system.?
No stranger to success, Brown will not be drawn on title aspirations when stating: ?You cannot take anything for granted in this league but we set a goal from the outset to move up one place each week, which we did for the first four weeks I was here.
?If we can continue to work hard for results we are in with a shout of maybe going close but the main aim is just to concentrate on what we are doing at the moment.?
When you look at the points gained in the last 9-games since Brown took over you will ind they have amassed 16-points which in context actually has them playing as a Top Four side alongside Manly United and Marconi Stallions respectively who have gathered the same amount: ?Only Bankstown have more during this period (17) so you could joke that we really ought to be a Top Four side on this form but that?s football for you.
?You need to earn bragging rights and we haven?t done that yet.?
Jay Lucas, Graham Forbes, Ryan Baldaccino and former NSL and A-League player Andre Gumprecht have been brought in since the arrival of Brown and have helped steady the ship but this coach believes only one side has out-played them so far: ?Marconi battered us 1-5 and the two teams were like chalk and cheese.
?They played like a football team and we turned in a performance that made us look like strangers on the park.
?Since then though we have conceded just one goal in four matches so we have tightened up in that area which is always what any side needs so we can plan for the remaining fixtures with confidence and see what happens.
?We will continue to give all teams a game and if a Top Four or Five finish is achieved we will have done exceptionally well but we won?t be putting extra pressure on ourselves by saying it, however, we are professional people and want to achieve the best we can so we?ll have to wait and see.?
The TeleChoice Premier League is proving a real test of character this season and it is fact that just about any side in the league can climb the ladder or sink to the nether regions such is the calibre of player and clubs within it which is probably why we get to witness such exciting and technically sound football week in, week out.
