Ante Milicic appointed Melbourne Heart assistant coach
The Sydney United Player/Manager had a fruitful debut season with the Reds in 2009 having captured the Premiership as well as taking out the top award as Coach of the Year by his fellow peers.
Milicic had a busy 2009 season not just with United but with the Australian Under 20 side where he was the assistant coach to Young Socceroos boss Jan Versleijen in Egypt.
The former Socceroo who also had stints in the Dutch Eredivise and Croatian First Division was also regarded as one of Australia?s finest NSL and A-League stars before throwing his hat into the coaching ring.
The 35-year-old will join former Danish star and Manchester United player Jesper Olsen who will also be an assistant coach to head coach and Dutchman John van?t Schip.
Apart from the amount of players that have come through the NSW Premier League system and have gone on to playing for respective A-League and National Youth League side’s, Milicic is just one of the many talented coaches who have been part of the NSW Premier League set-up.
Football NSW would like to wish Ante all the best with his future endeavours with the Melbourne Heart.
