1) Your name and occupation?
Marie Svinos ? Year 12 student
2) Your favoured playing position?
Defensive midfield
3) What was your first junior club?
Marrickville Red Devils
4) What made you take up football?
There were multiple reasons as to who and what made me decide to take up football. The first being that it ran in my family with my dad, secondly one of my best friends in primary school Isabel, told me about her team and wanted me to play and lastly after the film ?Bend it like Beckham? came out I was completely motivated to pursue a life in football.
5) Who has been your most positive influence on your football career?
My number one supporter and biggest influence on my game is without doubt my dad. Having experienced football at a high level NSL, my dad was always football orientated and he passed this interest and passion on to me. He has always been the one to train me and educate me in all different aspects relating to football and he has stood by me through ever triumph and failure that I have been faced with so far in my football career.
6) Which footballer do you admire most?
I admire Frank Lampard the most not just because Chelsea is my team but because he shows great qualities as a footballer. He has great vision and a good balance between all the other attributes in a footballer. Lampard plays the centre mid position perfectly and he is also loyal and a great leader.
7) Do you have any match day superstitions (lucky socks, left shoe before right, etc)?
I always put my right side on before my left (boots, socks etc), and as for the 2010 Marconi season this year every game Helen Petinos my best friend, has to do a braid at the front of my hair to avoid bobby pins as well as it being a new tradition for us to play well.
8) If you could have a dinner party with any three famous people who would they be? Why?
David Beckham to see how he is normally outside of the celebrity light, Audrey Hepburn as she was a fantastic role model and beautiful woman in her time and lastly Chace Crawford from gossip girl, if you see what he looks like then you will know why I chose him.
9) What song best describes your approach to football?
?Winner?- Jamie Fox, Justin Timberlake and T.I.
10) Is there a particular pre game meal you like to eat?
I don?t particularly have a pre game meal, usually something light or sugary.
11) What is your favourite football memory?
Although I do have many, my most cherished football memory to date would have to be making the state team for the first time in the under 15s. Something that I had wanted for a long time and to have achieved it, it was a great feeling and a fantastic football memory.
