Future looking bright for young Ramsey
After a tough season where the former National Soccer League side sit in 10th position and having changed three coaches, Ramsey is confident his side will work it?s way up the table after former Sydney FC youth team coach Steve O?Connor and Ian Crook took the reigns.
“We had a bad run for a few weeks but with the new coach and management that has come in being Ian Crook and Steve O?Connor my coach at Sydney FC so we can definitely see the benefits come out for the team.??
Ramsey had troubles settling back into the Sydney Olympic side after returning from the Sydney FC youth team, and admits he was frustrated.
“ I wanted to come in and hit the ground running so to speak. But unfortunately we went through a tough period. Winning against Manly and the draw last week hopefully turns our luck for the weeks to come.
The 22-year-old is not eligible to play in the National Youth League anymore, but says he is focused on forcing his way into an A-League club after trialling with the Brisbane Roar.
“ I really enjoyed my time in the National Youth League. I was involved with the first team for the majority of the season training with them.
“The competition in the youth league is great cause everyone is fighting for the same thing and that?s a first grade contract. So in some cases it is the same thing so that is why it is so competitive.
“I will continue to try my hardest to get into the A-league and hopefully that comes soon.
“I was at Brisbane a few weeks ago and I had a good trial but am yet to hear what has happened with that. But I am very fortunate enough to have gone there and have a trial.??
The youngster also has the option of travelling overseas for football and says anything is possible.
“ I just want to make the highest level that I can and it doesn?t really matter where it is.
“I have UK in me and a UK passport so who knows what the future holds for me.??
