Stanmore Hawks ? Camden Tigers
7-00pm, Saturday, July 10 @ Arlington Oval
Camden Tigers better bring their top notch defensive strategy with them if they are to stop Stanmore duo, Wasim Hijazi and Eli Squillacioti, from continuing their recent goalscoring form.
The pair have managed to net 23 of Stanmore?s 31 goals this season, keeping their side in the hunt for a semi final spot.
For Camden, this is a real ?six pointer? if they harbour any finals aspirations, so you can expect a tough encounter on a surface not conducive to football at Arlington Oval.
Schofields Scorpions ? Balmain SC
7-00pm, Saturday, July 10 @ CSI Sport Ground
Schofields will be looking to get back to winning ways when they are at home on Saturday night for the visit of Balmain.
The Scorpions are in danger of slipping out of the five given their form of late, and they will be hoping for a repeat of the first round result, which was a comprehensive 0-3 victory at Lambert Park.
Blacktown Spartans ? Gladesville Ryde Magic
7-00pm, Saturday, July 10 @ Francis Park No.2
It is difficult to see Gladesville come away from Francis Park with anything at all given the form of Blacktown Spartans of late.
The Spartans have only tasted defeat once this season, and boast the best attack in the league with 42 goals scored in 16 matches.
Glenn McPherson and Todd Macrae have managed 10 goals apiece, whilst Carlos Saliadarre is one of the best shot stoppers in the league, and will no doubt do everything to keep the Magic at bay.
Hills Brumbies ? Fairfield City Lions
7-00pm, Saturday, July 10 @ Second Ponds Oval
Expect some real fireworks at Second Ponds Oval on Saturday as league leaders, Hills Brumbies, host third placed Fairfield City Lions.
Sitting six points clear of the Lions, Hills will look towards their strong defensive structure ? conceding a competition best 18 goals so far in 2010 ? to repel Fairfield?s attack.
Brendan Mitrovich and Dragan Savic have been consistently knocking in the goals for Hills lately, and captain Terry Pannowitz, will once again lead from the front with his energetic midfield running.
The visitors are not shy in front of goal, however, notching 41 goals so far this year, and a win by them here will blow the title race wide open.
You can be sure that the experienced Yavos Ekinci and Robbie Issa, who have seen it all before during their careers, will be at the forefront of Fairfield?s game plan.
UNSW ? Mounties Wanderers
3-00pm, Sunday, July 11 @ David Phillips Field
Mounties Wanderers are on a nice run of form of late, and will be confident of adding the scalp of UNSW to their recent endeavours.
Frankie Romero and Joe Bruni provide Mounties with some tricky old fashioned wing play on either flank, whilst skipper, Daniel McCann, and centre back, Mark D?Alessandro, will meet you with a thud if you choose to explore the middle of the field.
UNSW coach, Luke Andrews, hasn?t been able to take a trick this season, with an extensive injury toll affecting the team?s results, so he will be hoping for a change in fortunes for his troops, and a win here will do so much for the confidence of the squad leading into the back end of the season.
Hurstville ZFC ? Inter Lions
3-00pm, Sunday, July 11 @ Hurstville Oval
If Inter Lions are serious about their semi final intentions, then they will be looking for nothing less than a comfortable victory against bottom placed Hurstville Oval on Sunday.
Sitting precariously outside the top five, the Lions are within striking distance, and will be hoping Dominic Dimento?s recent goalscoring form continues so they can take advantage of a defence that has conceded 49 goals so far in 2010.
Inter will need to be wary of big centre forward, Stiven Kostanic, who has returned to the club, and started scoring goals once again, and he will no doubt prove a real threat for the Inter defence.
