1) Your name and occupation?
Harriet Watts.
I still refer to myself as a student. I am finishing up a B. Design at the College of Fine Arts.
2) Your favoured playing position?
I have almost always played in midfield and prefer it there because you get involved in all sorts of play.
3) What was your first junior club?
I started with Leichhardt Saints FC, and played there for many years.
4) What made you take up football?
I failed a gymnastics level test, which would have allowed me to continue learning gym with friends. Instead, my best friend talked me into football, explaining it sounded fun and all the boys played it. As an impressionable, 6 year-old tomboy, I tried it out and signed up with her.
5) Who has been your most positive influence on your football career?
I have learnt the most from a recent former coach Dez Martin. He has exceptional knowledge and skill, and a will to pass it on.
6) Which footballer do you admire most?
I don?t follow football a lot. But I recently discovered Sneijder for the Netherlands. He is the most amazing and inspirational midfielder I have ever seen play.
7) Do you have any match day superstitions (lucky socks, left shoe before right, etc)?
No. I am not superstitious. I do rub the part of my foot I?m going to use before I take corners, free kicks etc. It helps.
8) If you could have a dinner party with any three famous people who would they be? Why?
I would have writer Tim Winton or Barbara Kingsolver, artist William Kentridge, and a designer such as Jorre van Anst. ?Although I wouldn?t mind taking Lucas Neil out for dinner.
9) What song best describes your approach to football?
There was some terrible dedicated love song on the radio on the way to training the other night that was hilariously perfect! Football is huge for me, and deep-seated.
10) Is there a particular pre game meal you like to eat?
Pre-game brekkies are usually weetbix, muesli, fruit, yoghurt and milk. Or, if time permits, and Saturday night necessitates it, good old bacon, eggs and mushrooms on toast.
11) What is your favourite football memory?
Some of my favourite football memories are of waking up early to watch world cup games. This, to me, is football fever.
