The season is over for prospect should they lose and the Roosters are yet to cement their own finals position, making it a dash to victory for both sides. Prospect enjoyed a solid 2-1 win over Roosters in round nine.
Bathurst ?75 face an in-form Luddenham United at Alec Lamberton Field on Saturday night (7pm). Still with a mathematical shot of making the top-five Bathurst have plenty to play for, but Luddenham have found the habit of winning an enjoyable one and will be keen to build on their groundbreaking season. United held off a determined Bathurst fightback to prevail 3-2 in an entertaining round nine affair.
The action is just as fierce at the other end of the table with bottom-two sides Hawkesbury City and Hakoah meeting at Hensley Athletic Field on Saturday night (7pm) in a match that could well determine this year?s wooden spoon. Hawkesbury beat Hakoah 3-1 in bizarre circumstances in round nine, with three goals scored in injury time. The scramble for goals could be just as frenetic this time around.
Finals contenders Springwood United play a sharpened Gazy Lansvale at Cherrybrook Park on Sunday afternoon (3pm kick-off) with more than points to play for. Lansvale cruised past Springwood 4-1 in round nine and United might just use revenge as motivation to take back a coveted top-five position weeks out from the finals. Gazy are on a two match winning sequence of their own.
Talk about big match-ups, Hurstville City Minotaurs take on old foes Belmore Hercules at their Blick Oval fortress on Sunday afternoon (3pm). Hurstville suffered an ugly 0-2 loss to Gazy in their last meeting and now face a Belmore side intent on playing finals football this year. Hercules were certainly good for it when they thrashed the Minotaurs 6-0 in a round nine romp, but both sides are now looking wobbly.
Division two title holders Wanderers welcome Fairfield Bulls to Knight Park on Sunday afternoon (3pm) in a cross-town derby that could put the winner in the minor premiership box seat. The Bulls beat Wanderers 2-zip earlier in the year and are looking enticingly delicious for the season?s first trophy but nobody is writing of the defending champions either. This blockbuster could be a grand final preview.
