Haydon joins Allstars in McDonald’s Premier League
Haydon an ever present member of the Queensland side has committed to playing for the Allstars in season 2010/11 and beyond.
Haydon who has over 35 international caps for his country and over 15 international goals has been away from the International stage for a couple years now and sees this as the perfect opportunity to reclaim the mantle as one of the Futsalroos most influential players.
?The competition in NSW is one I follow pretty closely mainly because I have many of the boys I represented Australia with playing in it.
When Vizza gave me a call I jumped at the chance to play. I?ve been away from the national team for a couple of years now and I want to reclaim my futsalroo jersey. I know that the National team coach Steven Knight is stationed here in NSW and what better chance than this to get back into competitive action and impress?.
?Vizz spoke to me about Allstars and how successful the club were last season and their plans for this season and beyond and I couldn?t refuse, I?m really looking forward to play for the Allstars, it sounds like an exciting team and a great club? said Allstars newest recruit.
?When most of the team left I started thinking about players I wanted to play with, experienced players who know the game and have something to prove and one of the first names that came into my head was Lukey?.
I know he wants to get back into the Aussie side and when he committed to playing and coming here every week I was ecstatic. I can?t wait to start playing with him again?.
?We now have Luke and myself as experienced Futsalroos and Fogs and Tommy as the youthful ones and with the boys we already have I?m really looking forward to it. We are a team with lots to prove and to a lot of people but it should be a good season? said club Captain Adrian Vizzari
?When I knew Luke wanted to play I was delighted, he is quick and he can rip players it?s something that not many players here in Australia have and I?m delighted to welcome him to the club.
You can tell when you speak to him he has that hunger back.
With Luke now signed that brings the end to our recruitment for this season, we brought in 2 Futsalroos in Luke and Tommy we also picked up ex Futsalroo in Issac Wadick who?s looking fantastic in training plus Robbie Maiorana and Ediz Alpkaya who are both NSW reps and youngsters Pat Pace and Robbie Greenway and the Youth boys Daniel Fogarty, Shayne Ardle and Aaron Cimitile. Everyone is really looking forward for the season to start? said Mens coach Carmine Bortone
Haydon played his first international in 2004 against Japan and scored on debut whilst representing Australia in the 2004 World Cup in Chinese Taipei. Such was Haydons quality and superb form at that World Cup he was signed up by Brazilian Futsal powerhouse Carlo Barbosa soon after.
