This is great news for the Tigers as it not only ensures its long term security at Lambert Park, the ground they have called home for the past 56 years, but it also is a major coup for the district which will continue to have the Tigers provide footballing pathways to enthusiasts of all ages and catering to players of all abilities.
Long serving President Tony Raciti is elated with this decision from Leichhardt Council after months and months of negotiations.
?The entire club of 1147 registered players would like to thank Leichhardt Council for their faith and ongoing commitment in the club?s activities. This new 15 year lease proves that Leichhardt Council considers Apia as a community icon and Lambert Park is a landmark within that community.
“Lambert Park may not be a modern day facility and lacks modern day infrastructure, but as far as we are all concerned it is a world class stadium suitable to our immediate purposes. We are all very proud to know we will continue to call it home?
