Super Youth League The Finals Series
The grounds were in good order and the weather gods were smiling so the stage was set for yet another day of fantastic football where three of the four teams in each age group would survive and one would be eliminated.
Grade 13
Elimination Semi Final
During the competition Dulwich Hill had claimed the first round points with a 3-1 victory in the first round but then Mounties Wanderers had won the second round clash 1-0.
However, on this occasion the Mounties were 1-0 winners and that has allowed them to progress to the Minor Semi Final while Dulwich Hill have bowed out of the finals.

When they met during the competition Central Coast Lightning had taken the first round points with a 4-1 result and then Spirit FC produced a 1-00 victory in the second round.
On Saturday Lightning were a bit too good as they took out the match 3-1 to progress to the Major Semi Final where they will face Sydney University while Spirit will be up against Lightning in the Minor Semi Final.

Elimination Semi Final
Central Coast Lightning had grabbed all the competition points when the met Mounties Wanderers during the season, winning the first round match 3-1 and then backing that up with a 5-0 result in the second round.
However, Mounties were not about to pay any attention to history as they bounced back to win 1-0 and claim their place in the Minor Semi Final while Lightning have completed their commitments to the finals series.

Spirit FC were 1-0 winners on both occasions when they faced Sydney University during the competition.
That form held true for this match when Spirit won with a 3-2 scoreline in a thriller and they have progressed to the Major Semi Final where they will face Dulwich hill while Uni will meet Mounties in the Minor Semi Final.

The matches between PCYC Parramatta and Dulwich Hill during the competition were close with Parramatta winning the first round game 1-0 and then the second round encounter was a 1-1 draw.
This time Parramatta produced a 3-0 result and that has put them through to the Minor Semi Final while Dulwich Hill will play no further part in the finals series.

Sydney University had taken all the competition points from the matches against Spirit FC, winning the first round game 3-1 and then taking out the second round clash with a 1-0 result.
That seemed to matter little to Spirit as they produced a 1-0 result that has allowed them to move into the Major Semi Final where they will be up against Granville Rage while Uni will face Parramatta in the Minor Semi Final.

The competition honours were even as Mountie Wanderers had bagged the first round points with a 2-1 result while Sydney University were 1-0 winners in the second round.
On this occasion Uni were just a bit too hot as they ran out 2-0 winners to claim a spot in the Minor Semi Final while the Wanderers have bowed out of the finals series.

PCYC Parramatta took the first round points from their clash with Macarthur Rams with a 2-0 victory and then the second round encounter was a 1-1 draw.
The Eagles were a bit too strong for the Rams in this match as they ran out 3-0 winners to graduate to the Major Semi Final where they will meet Spirit FC while Macarthur will play Uni in the Minor Semi Final.

Elimination Semi Final
Sydney University had claimed the first round points when they defeated Dulwich Hill 3 2 in the first round of the competition and then the second round encounter had ended in a 2-2 draw.
The match was again very, very close with the scores locked at 2- at full time and when there was no change during extra time, the dreaded penalty shootout was called upon. It was here that Dully came to the fore with a 5-4 win and that has moved them into the Minor Semi Final. Uni have now bowed out of the finals series.

PCYC Parramatta had taken all the competition points from their clashes with Northern Tigers, winning the first round match 2-1 and then they were 3-2 winners in the second round.
That form held true for this match when Parramatta were successful with a 1-0 scoreline. They have claimed the berth in the Major Semi Final where they will be up against Spirit FC while the Tigers will face Dulwich Hill in the Minor Semi Final.
