Cazarine strengthens Sydney FC line-up
The 27-year-old arrived in Sydney last week and after a successful trial is now officially a Sky Blue.
Cazarine, who will wear the number 9 nine jersey, has extensive playing experience throughout Brazil, Qatar and China and adds more depth to the Sky Blues already potent attack that features Alex Brosque, Mark Bridge and speedster Kofi Danning.
?I am very happy with the possibility to play with Sydney FC. Sydney FC is a big club in Australia and the last champion so it is a good opportunity for me,? Cazarine said.
?The club is very professional so I will do my best. We have good players and many good strikers like Brosque, Bridge and Kofi.
?I am tall and I can bring physicality. I think the coach has some great options in attack. The game is physical here and quicker and the more I train here the more I will adjust. I like it being physical.?
Cazarine will be eligible to make his Hyundai A-League debut once his international transfer and work visa are finalised.
?I heard many good things about the A-League back in Brazil. One of my friends [Anderson] and former teammates played for the Gold Coast and I spoke to him and he said the league and the country were both very good,? Cazarine said.
?I have only been here for a week so with one more week of training and spending more time with the players I will be ready to play. Whenever the coach wants me to play I will be ready.?
After graduating through the youth system of Brazilian side Palmeiras, Cazarine spent time in both their A and B teams between 2002 and 2004 before being regularly loaned out by the club. Firstly, he made a successful move to Al-Saylia in Qatar where he scored seven goals in 21 games.
From there, he moved to Chinese club Chengdu Blades where in 2005 he scored eight goals in 16 appearances. He then spent time at Spanish club Terrassa, Portuguese side Naval and Italian team Martina before returning to Brazil and club side Bragantino in 2008 and went onto bag seven goals in 25 appearances that year.
In 2009 he scored four goals in eight games for Chapecoense in the Brazilian second division before scoring eight goals in 19 appearances for South Korean side Gyengnam after a mid season move.
Cazarine spent the earlier part of 2010 with Vila Nova in the Brazilian second division before signing with Sydney FC.
