Classy Quake gives Enfield a welcome to Premier League
They young Quake side started the game well, not allowing Enfield to settle into the match. Quake opened the scoring when Stephanie Haim?s ball to the back post took a wicked deflection of Nichole Laws gave Rover?s keeper Tani Rosekelly no chance.
Enfield lifted the intensity but Quake were rock solid in defence only allowing the occasional shot from outside the ?D?. Quake took a slender 1-0 lead into the half time break
The second half started similar to the first with Quake coming out of the blocks a hundred miles an hour and 5minutes from the start Stephanie Haim saw Rosekelly off her line and her perfectly executed chip to extend their lead. Quake then made it 3-0 2minutes later when Haim brake away found Linda Dudek who?s shot was strong for Rosekelly and it trickled across the line.
Enfield restored some pride in the dying minutes with a consolation goal after a scramble inside the ?D? lead to the ball hitting the back of the net.
Quake Coach Tommy Thompson said after the match ?The girls had a point to prove after last season grand final defeat? ?I knew the girls were switched on from the start and we are extremely happy to get off to a good start?

Sydney City Stroll past Dural
Sydney City was missing a few of their big names coming into the match against the dangerous Dural Warriors. Sydney City took an early lead with a goal from a tight angle. Dural equalized not long after through a well worked passing sequence. Sydney City then turned up the tempo took a deserved lead when Renee Tomkins right foot strike found the back of the net. From that point on it was all one way traffic as the Eagles continue to apply pressure they extended their lead and it finished 3-1
Raiders and Allstars stalemate
Western Raiders were hoping to improve from last season performance. Allstars who played in the finals series were looking to get off to a good start. Both teams started the contest brightly with the game flowing from end to end. Inner West had the early run of the game and Raiders only looked dangerous on the break. This turned out to be an even contest and in the end which both sides were left scratching their heads how they didn?t manage to win.
Vipers experience to good for Benfica
The last match of the round and it saw Benfica take on Vipers. Benfica were slow to get going in this game and the experienced Vipers dominated a lot of early possession. Mascots created a lot of chances in the game but were unable to find the back of the net. Vipers ran out 3-1 victors and coach Zvi Ben David said ?he was happy with the performance but was disappointed they didn?t take a few more of there chances?
