George Ellul awarded 2010 Charles Valentine Medal

George started supporting the club formerly known as the Melita Eagles in 1965. Although being a supporter, George spent days and nights assisting the club out in a number of areas.
In 1982 George decided to stand for election for the board of directors and until now has remained part of this for the past twenty-nine years.
George is known to many at the club for being the first to arrive to open up Melita Stadium and the last to leave and locking up at each of the club?s home games and training nights.
On match day, George is there putting the nets up, marking the fields and making sure everything is right to go on game day.
Over the past 29 years, George has held various positions on the board from Director, Social Coordinator, Ground Manager and Under 18?s and Under 21?s Team Manager. But for anyone that knows George, his much appreciated position he held was on the board as Senior Team Manager where he has been there for the last 15 years.
George has a great camaraderie with the players and staff alike that have only but respect for the hard work and efforts he has gone through for the club. His passion for football and for his beloved Eagles is second to none and expects nothing in return but seeing his club win as many matches and championships as possible.
George Ellul has dedicated over half his life to football and the Parramatta Eagles giving his services to the game and club asking for nothing in return. George is the longest servicing board member in Eagles history and looks set to continue this trend for years to come.
It was truly a fitting award for such a passionate advocate of the game.

1995 to 2010 1st grand Team manager and groundsman
For the past 29 years George has always looked after the following

?         Maintaining playing field
Prior to 1981 George was part of a sub-committee involved with Eagles that assisted with things such as:
?         Working in canteen and BBQ
?         General Maintenance
?         Fundraising activities
