Timpano commits to the South Coast Wolves
Born and bred in Wollongong, Timpano has had a tough few years since his time with Sydney FC in 2005 where he was an essential player in the Sky Blues? Championship winning side under coach Pierre Littbarski.
The 25-year-old has since played with the North Queensland Fury but persistent injuries cut his chances of playing regular first team football.
The big centre back then donned the jersey of Sydney United in 2010 before returning to his old stomping ground as the former Fernhill junior has been sounded out as a key member in Trevor Morgan?s squad.
?I?m delighted to be back at home with the Wolves and I hope to do what I can in assisting in the club?s plight for playing finals football.
?The South Coast region is rich in talent and I know that the club will do what it takes to further develop future stars for our game here in this country.
?I?m also hoping to put all my injury woes aside in resurrecting my career under the Wolves?, Timpano told Football NSW.
The Wolves who finished ninth in 2010 have retained keeper Brody Crane, leading marksman Mark Picciolini, defender Dave Abel, youngsters Samet Kaynak, Chris Nathaniel, Jack Keating and Nick Littler.
Former Brisbane Strikers and ex-APIA Leichhardt Tigers midfielder Lawrence Drake has also joined the club while Morgan is also hopeful of signing a couple of current National Youth League players currently in season with their respective A-League clubs.
The club has lost Tynan Diaz to the Bonnyrigg White Eagles, Tayfun Buyuykkopru to the Bankstown City Lions, Lisandro Berbis to the Rockdale City Suns and Jason Trifiro who has joined Victorian Premier League side Northcote City alongside his brother Glen.
Morgan revealed to the ?Illawarra Mercury? a five-year-plan in fielding a strong starting eleven squad comprising of Illawarra born and bred players just like Timpano.
