Open Women: NSW Thunder 8-1 NSW Lightning
NSW Thunder dominated NSW Lightning, hammering them 8-1 in a terribly one sided encounter.
Doris Osman and Renee Tomkins scored twice each, Osman’s first goal coming in the 5th minute. Tomkins first was a part of a fantastic passing move in the 12th minute, before Feliz Urkanci scored a beautiful left footed free kick in the 16th minute.
Elisha Williams scored for Lightning in the 16th minute to make the score 3-1, but from there it was all about the Thunder.
Jo-Anne Saliba, Sarah Semaan and Claire Walsh all added their names to the scoresheet to round out an emphatic victory.
ACT 2-0 NSW Thunder
The second match of the day for the NSW Thunder didn’t go according to plan however, as they went down 2-0 to ACT in a tightly contested match.
The score was locked at 0-0 at the half time break, with Thunder on top, but Hayley Buckingham and Sarah Crittenden scored for the ACT in the second half to win the match.

ACT goalkeeper Luisa Marzotto had an incredible match, making save after save to deny the opposition and lay the platform for a valuable ACT win.

Open Men: NSW Thunder 8-3 South Australia
NSW Thunder outclassed South Australia, dominating the match to win 8-3.
Such was the ferocity with which NSW started the match, they were 8-0 up at the half time break.
Jarod Basger scored four, whilst Nathan Niski incredibly netted in the 3rd, 5th and 9th minutes to register a wonderful hattrick. The odd man out was Jakob Radas, who scored in the 15th minute.

The second half, as is so often the case when one side is well clear at the break, was somewhat of a let down and NSW Thunder will be unhappy at conceding thrice, but they nevertheless sent out a fearsome message to the rest of the competition.
