Round 4 of the SUPA IGA National Premier Leagues Mens 2 comeptition kicks off this weekend with a number of mouth-watering fixtures that are sure to delight the fans venturing off to respective matches this Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday
Mounties Wanderers v Parramatta FC 7pm Cook Park
Mounties Wanderers will lock horns with Parramatta FC in what promises to be an enthralling affair at Cook Park.
The Mounties coached by Aidan Desmond and Glenn Lockhart currently occupy first position will no doubt look to the leadership of tough defenders Mark D’Allessandro and David Gardiner, keeper Ali Akbal as well as captain fantastic Daniel McCann against a very tough outfit in Lee Sterrey’s men.
Jason Naidovski as well as Daniel Severino will be others that will want to cause havoc for the home side who would love to earn the three points at home keeping them in first position.
Sterrey’s side will look towards the attacking abilities of talented youngster Devante Clut as well as Suad Ameti and Andrija Petkovic to lead from the middle of the park while keeper Simon Jaeger will once again hope for a clean sheet this weekend.
Bankstown City FC v Sydney University 7pm – Jensen Park
Jensen Park will be the scene where Bankstown City FC tackle Sydney University in what will an interesting affair at Sefton.
Bankstown will be buoyed by the recent signing of former Blacktown Spartans midfielder Jordan Simpson who will join the likes of star players Sasho Petrovski, Gosue Sama, Dominic Hudap, Zlatko Joseski, Reuben Lagos and Steve Liavas to name a few who hope to keep Jensen Park a fortess.
University have yet to win this season but coach Mark McCormick would love nothing more than to get a result in what promises to be great game on Saturday evening.
Macarthur Rams v Spirit FC 7pm – Lynwood Park
Claudio Canosa’s Macarthur Rams welcome Spirit FC to what will be a chilly Saturday evening at Lynwood Park.
The Rams with two wins from three matches will be hoping to continue their winning ways at home and will look towards the likes of Michael Brown, Reece Iredale, Almir Dizdaric and keeper Chad Taylor in achieving a positive result.
On the other hand, Rob di Ceglie’s men have yet to win this year but with the likes of Akwasi Agyei, Lachlan Harte, Andrew McKie and Tim Simpson raring to go, they’ll certainly put on a fight against the Rams.
Bankstown Berries v Fraser Park 7pm – The Crest
John Calleja’s Bankstown Berries outfit entertain Fraser Park at the Crest on Saturday evening.
The Berries have had an indifferent start to the year with two draws and a win but will be hoping that they get the victory to spearhead their promotional campaign.
With Chris Gaitatzis, Ante Deur, Dimitri Zakilas, Kodjo Adjassou as well as experienced  campaigner Peter Zorbas pulling the strings in midfield, they’ll be in for a fight against Albin Mikulski’s side.
Boasted by star striker Ben Vidaic as well as Hussein Akil, Robert Di Meglio and the tricky Paulo Oliveira, this match certainly has goals written all over it in what should be a classic affair between two evenly poised sides.
Sunday
Northern Tigers v Hills Brumbies 3pm Mills Park
Mills Park will set the scene for the Northern Tigers home clash against the Hills Brumbies on Sunday.
Jason Eagar’s men will be chasing this as a vital match in keeping them in touch with the top.
Steven Baveas, Stefan De Jesus, Brendan Salameh and keeper Stuart Page will be players to watch out for in what should be a great clash against a hungry Hills Brumbies line-up.
With only two matches under their belt, Mark Abi-Arrage’s men will be going into this clash with no fear and will look towards the likes of keeper Nenad Vekic, Omar Saadi, Leigh Gunn, Wade Giovenali and 2012 Player of the Year Jeffery Issa for some inspiration.
St George FC v Mt Druitt Town Rangers 3pm – St George Stadium
Manny Spanoudakis’ talented Saints squad take on Nicholas Verdos’ Rangers side at St George Stadium on Sunday.
Known for being one of the teams to watch out for in 2013, Spandouakis’ team have kicked off things on a tough note having drawn and lost their first two matches but with the likes of Juan Chavez, Chris Gomez, George Degenek, Bill Tsanidis and Sam Messam in the squad, they’re sure to turn the corner soon.
The Rangers too are searching for their first victory of 2013 and will look towards the ever reliable Shayne Ardle and Daniel Fogarty to get them through this tough encounter.
