AFC U16 Championship dreams realised for six lucky NSW girls
Six lucky NSW born future stars have been selected into the Westfield Australian Under 17 Women’s National team to participate in the AFC U16 Women’s Championships later this month.
NSW Metro players Tia Gavin, Victoria Guzman, Chloe O’Brien, Rhianna Pollicina along with NSW Country players Jada Mathyssen-Whyman and Matilda-Lee Potter will be travelling to Nanjing, China between 26 September and 6 October 2013 to compete in the AFC U16 Women’s Championships.
Australia have been drawn in group A with host country China and Bahrain. The winner from each group will progress to the semi-finals, and the winners of the semi-finals will progress to the final to be held on 6 October 2013.
The AFC U-16 Women’s Championships 2013 is the official FIFA qualifying tournament for the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
