Latin American International Students Beach Soccer Tournament
Calling all Latin American international students – register to play in a special beach soccer day at Sydney’s Eastern Beaches at Coogee Beach on Sunday 29 September.
Registrations are open for the Latin American International Students Beach Soccer Tournament.
Police are inviting students from schools, TAFE colleges, English language colleges, universities and other educational institutions across Sydney to register to play and celebrate Latin culture and a love of the world game.
Supported by Football Federation Australia, Randwick City Council and SBS, the event will see students with Brazilian, Chilean, Colombian, Mexican, Peruvian or Venezuelan heritages represent their country in a round-robin soccer competition.
Eastern Beaches LAC – NSW Police Force Commander and Det Supt Gavin Dengate, Corporate Spokesperson for International Students, Superintendent Gavin Dengate, said local police will be on the sand playing alongside the international students.
“NSW Police Force recognises the need to build trusting relationships with international students living and studying in Sydney, and help them feel comfortable to speak with our officers,” Supt Dengate said.
“We believe that by creating positive experiences and proving we have common interests, we can break down the barriers between officer and student,” Supt Dengate said.
Students must register to play as team places are limited.
In what will be a great day of Beach Football, the NSW Police Force will take on the Latin American International Students side in what will be a thrilling day.
