Futsal State Championships ready to shine this weekend

The Futsal State Championships will take place this weekend, October 5 and 6, 2013.

Two venues within the Sydney Metropolitan area will be hosting this year’s Championships.

Junior teams will play at Penrith Regional Sports Stadium, located on Herbert St at Cambridge Park. Junior teams include the following age categories: Under 11, 12, and 14 Boys as well as Under 12 and 14 Girls.

Senior teams will play at Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium, located on Stewart St at South Windsor. Included are the following age categories: All Age Men, All Age Women, Youth Men, Under 16 Boys, and Under 16 Girls as well as AWD categories

This year there is a Championship record 200 teams registered and up to 2000 players will take part in the Championships across Saturday and Sunday.

This is a credit to NSW Futsal and acknowledgement of the quality and prestige that the NSW Futsal State Championships has acquired down the years.

Football NSW Technical Director Alex Tobin is looking forward to a successful State Championships.

“Futsal is a tremendous development pathway for players for both Futsal and outdoor football, as it increases decision making ability in confined areas,” Tobin said

“The Futsal State Championships will showcase some of the best talent in NSW Futsal for boys, girls, men and women.

“We are looking forward to a very successful tournament.”
