Moustakas appointed Belmore United First Grade coach
Perry Moustakas was ecstatic when he found out he had been appointed the head coach of State League Two outfit Belmore United FC for Season 2014.
Moustakas has also been a regular member and defender in the IGA NPL NSW Mens 1 Competition with the Sutherland Sharks FC and was also part of the Allstars Team of the Year in 2013.
“It is an honour to coach Belmore United FC (also formerly known as Belmore Hercules Soccer Club), a Club with 41 years of history, the Club Tim Cahill played for before trying his luck in Europe.
“For the 2014 Winter Season, we hope to strengthen the team and go one better and make the Top 5 Finals Series after missing out by one point this year,” Moustakas said.
Belmore’s Football Director, George Lazarou was equally pleased with Australian-born Moustakas who is a 10 year veteran of First Division football in Cyprus where he is very well-known and has had time with Salamina FC, Apollon and APOEL and has decided to migrate back to Australia with his young family.
Moustakas will be assisted by Adamos Pierettis, another ex-European professional who played with Agia Napa FC in Cyprus and also coached at the well regarded Paralimni Football Academy, one of Cyprus most prestigious football academies.
In the reserve grade team, Stamati Kefalonias has been re-appointed as the head coach of the reserves for 2014 and will continue to develop a platform for the younger United players to make a mark in the State League
