Nepean Football Association FUNdraiser success
It was smiles galore as the Nepean Football Association held its FUNdraiser at Cook Park with over $5000 being donated to football families affected by the recent Bushfires that hit Sydney.
Nepean Football’s James Rankine was delighted with the support the day received from the football community.
“We are extremely thankful to all the people involved in making our FUNdraiser a success.
“The day dawned bright and sunny and we had over 160 people come down to join the fun.
“Sydney FC players Terry Antonis and Peter Triantis came and spent a couple of hours signing autographed posters and getting photos taken with our players and their families and also donated a hat and team poster signed by the entire Sydney FC squad.
“The NRMA Ball amnesty van and skills tester made its way out to the ground as well and there were plenty of attempts to win a ball by kicking it through one of the targets. Those skillful enough to score through all 3 targets were rewarded with tickets to the WSW v Heart game.
“WSW Soccer clinic staff came to run some sessions and give junior players the opportunity to score in their target goal game.
“Players and teams were placed into 2 pools of 4 teams each and presented with their new Nike playing strips which were kindly donated by FC Teamsports Penrith and Nike Australasia.
“We all ate well from the sausages supplied by Primo Smallgoods and the boys from Amart Sports were on hand to answer questions about their new store and we were also able to utilize the $20 store vouchers in the keenly contested Penalty shootout.
“Another highlight of the day was the auction for the outdoor box for the WSW v Heart game donated by the NFA and the team from Nepean Hospital dug deep and handed over $600.
“The biggest thanks though goes to the people who showed up on the day with the right spirit and attitude and it is pleasing to be able to say that we have been able to raise over $5000.00 that we will be pleased to distribute to our footballing families affected by the bushfires.”
