State Cup Semi-Finals announced

Things are heating up as the 2015 State, Robertson and Bill Cullinan Cup Semi-Finals have been announced and will take place at six different venues across Sydney on Sunday 28th of June.

Granville Association’s Ray Marshall and Progress Park, Manly Association’s Cromer Park, Northern Suburbs Association’s Charles Bean Oval, St George Association’s Scarborough Park and Sutherland Association’s Seymour Shaw will all play host to an assortment of State Cup Semi-Final matches.

Sutherland Shire Football Association will have an incredible nine teams representing them across various age groups while the Southern District and Northern Suburbs Associations will each have seven.

Club wise, Northbridge FC have four teams involved in the State Cups which is a fantastic effort by the Northern Suburbs based club while Canterbury Association’s Balmain & District FC and St George’s Connells Point Reserve FC both feature three teams.

Football NSW Competitions Coordinator Kim Burge received positive comments from various clubs that this year’s competitions have been the best yet.

“I’ve received calls that clubs have been really impressed with the level of competition in this year’s tournament.

“Clubs have really gotten behind these matches and it’s showed with the amazing display of football that’s been seen by the many that have had the opportunity to watch any of these games.

“Best of luck to all participating teams still involved in the tournament with all roads leading to Valentine Sports Park for the final on Sunday 12th of July.”

The State, Robertson and Bill Cullinan Cups knockout tournaments are conducted by Football NSW for Association based male and female teams and Country Association representative or club teams.

This tournament has this season has attracted over 500 entries and has been seen as an ideal opportunity for club teams from all areas of Football NSW to compete against teams from outside their own Association.

The finals will be played at Football NSW’s Valentine Sports Park on Sunday 12th of July.
