FNSW Institute jet set for Manchester

Football NSW Institute will enter uncharted waters when the U15 Boys represent Australia and New Zealand at the upcoming Manchester United Premier Cup 2015 World Finals as they prepare to depart from Sydney today.

The 16 aspiring young footballers will travel to Manchester for a 3-day tournament to compete against 19 other teams from across the globe, including Basel (Switzerland), Clube Atlético Paranaense (Brazil), Genoa CFC (Italy), Suwon Samsung Blue Wings (Korea), Real Madrid (Spain) and of course hosts Manchester United FC.

The team won the right to represent Australia and New Zealand after taking out the recent Oceania tournament after defeating Kiwi side Onehunga Sports at Valentine Sports Park 3-0 thanks to goals from Ramy Najjarine, Ahmed Sweedan and John Roberts.

The draw will be announced at the Welcome function of the tournament and will be placed on the tournament’s website which you can view by clicking here on this link.

Following the tournament, 7 of the squad members will join the Australian U17 Joeys to compete in the 2015 AFF U16 Championships in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
