Nepean Association’s Colo SFC 16 Girls are on a mission to capture their fifth piece of silverware for 2015 as they take on Manly’s Collaroy Cromer Strikers in Sunday’s PUMA Champion of Champions final.

It’s been an extraordinary year for the Girls which have seen them lift the Football NSW U16 State Cup, Kanga Cup as well as the Nepean Football Association 16 Girls Premiership and Championship.

Colo SFC defeated Northern Suburbs’ Lindfield FC 2-1 to lift the Football NSW State Cup held at Valentine Sports Park in July.

Colo SFC Assistant Coach Darron Blanch stated to Football NSW his delight on what has been a great year.

“It’s been a remarkable year for everyone involved with this team.

“To have won all these achievements is something I am sure will live long in all the girls’ memories.”

The team won its place in this year’s coveted final after defeating Bathurst 1-0 while their opponents Collaroy Cromer Strikers dusted off Football South Coast’s Kiama 3-0 setting up a mouthwatering clash on Sunday.

“There were amazing scenes in our semi-final as we literally scored with only seconds remaining in extra time.

“In what was the last play of the game, Madison Hardy crossed the ball to Tahlia Blanch (Darron’s daughter) and headed the ball in the back of the net.

“It was unbelievable.”

Nepean Football Association Football Manager James Rankine wished the team every success in their final.

“’We’re really proud of this team’s achievements.

“They’ve been a successful and competitive team all year and this has shown through their list of wonderful trophies which has been well deserved.

“The Girls really enjoy their football and that really forms part of their success.”

Rankine also wished their 17 Boys, Glenmore Park, the best of luck in their Finals match against Gladesville Hornsby’s West Pennant Hills.

“We’re equally proud with this team also and the NFA would like to wish Glenmore Park all the best on Sunday, we will all be cheering them on.”
