FNSW Institute Girls bound for the Dallas International Cup

In what has already been a fantastic start to the year for women’s football has come the news that the Football NSW Institute Girls squad will be participating in one of the biggest football tournaments in the world, the Dallas International Cup.

The Dallas International Girls Cup is an invitational event hosted by the Dallas Texans, who are ranked as the best youth soccer club in the United States.

Two Football NSW Institute teams will be participating to contest in the Under 13 and Under 14 categories.

Across the two squads, twenty-seven players will have the chance to showcase their skills in arguably the most prestigious girls football tournament on offer.

Football NSW Women’s Technical Coordinator and Institute Coach Nadine Shiels has coordinated the trip and is excited about the opportunity the tournament will present.

“Participating in the Dallas International Girls Cup is a fantastic opportunity for our girls to test themselves against some of the best development and elite programs in the world.

“Teams from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Canada and England will be participating, and I am excited to witness some great football from these young players.

“This will be an experience I know the girls and coaches will embrace.”

The Dallas International Cup age groups range from Under 12s right up to Under 17s, with many scouting prospects on offer for the international teams who compete.

Head coaches Leah Blayney and Nadine Shiels as well as assistant coach Renee Rollason and physiotherapist Annaleise Barton will accompany the Football NSW Institute Under 13 and Under 14 teams.

The squads will be leaving Sydney on Monday 21^st March and will participate in the Dallas International Cup from 23-27 March
