Summer Football Champion of Champions this Saturday
It’s finally here – Football NSW’s Summer Football Champion of Champions finals will be played this Saturday at Valentine Sports Park in what promises to be a huge day for the ever growing sport.
The 2016-2017 season saw a number of targets and milestones achieved as a total of 88 affiliated Summer Football competitions provided opportunities for over 34,000 footballers thus far across NSW playing the world game all year round.
Football NSW Member Services Manager Matt Rippon was thrilled by the success Summer Football achieved this season.
“The Summer Football season has been the most memorable to date which such a huge update this season with nearly 90 centres in total.
“It is fantastic to see so many of our new centres such as Bonnyrigg, Menai, Pennant Hills BDAFA and St George participating in this event.
“It’s certainly a fantastic opportunity for the best small sided football teams in the state to showcase their skills against other venues and Saturday will be all about that.”
Twelve women’s teams including three Northern Suburbs Football Association teams, Gladesville Sharks, Nepean Football Association, Kellyville Kolts Soccer Club, Revesby Workers, St George FA, Northbridge, Eschol Park, Narellan Ranges, and Marayong will do battle on Saturday with the winner crowned Champions of Summer Football in the female category.
The men’s category will be fiercely contested by Kellyville Kolts Soccer Club, Gladesville Sharks, Nepean Football Association, Narellan, Revesby Workers, Marayong, Forest Killarney, Eschol Park, BDAFA, Pennant Hills, Menai Hawks, Blacktown Association, Bonnyrigg White Eagles, and three Northern Suburbs Football Association teams.
