Emma Kocbek rewarded for outstanding season

Promising young referee Emma Kocbek has continued her rapid rise to success as the female official was crowned ‘2017 Senior Referee of the Year’ for her local branch, the Nepean Referees Group on Saturday night.

The 20-year-old was delighted upon receiving her coveted award.

“It was such an honour to be named the senior referee of the year.

“I have worked incredibly hard this season and have a full focus on 2018 already.”

Nepean Referees Group Manager Graham Chapman predicted a bright future for the Werrington County resident.

“Every year we open up the doors of opportunity but ultimately it’s then up to the referees on whether or not they walk through that door.

“In the case of Emma Kocbek, she has run through that door taking advantage of the opportunities she has been given.
