Northern Tigers FC  have officially announced their prized signing of current Matildas striker Michelle Heyman for the remainder of the NPL NSW Women’s season.

Heyman is currently in Jordan with the Matildas for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, looking to build on her record of 20 goals scored in 59 appearances.

The 29-year-old has played for Canberra United in the Westfield W-League since 2010, scoring 55 goals in 89 appearances.

“I am excited to join Tigers, looking forward to a new experience and working hard with the team” Heyman said.
Northern Tigers Technical Director Jason Eagar believes the star striker will have a key impact upon the team throughout the season.

“From a coaching perspective I’m really looking forward to working with Michelle, but as a football fan I am also looking forward to watching her play each week!” he said.

“Michelle will add a significant attacking threat to the squad once she returns from what I hope is a successful Matildas campaign at the Asian Cup.”

“To now have four capped Matildas in the Northern Tigers squad it is very exciting for the club and women’s football in NSFA.”
Heyman will join the Northern Tigers playing squad following the conclusion of the Matildas’ Asian Cup campaign.

This signing comes off the back of the club recruiting former Western Sydney Wanderers player Ellie Brush who also featured for the GWS Giants in the Women’s AFL.

The 29-year-old spent the majority of her playing career at Canberra United, winning two premierships and two championships as club captain.
