With TAFE NSW Summer Football in full swing, there has been a massive uptake on the social version in Football NSW’s Regional areas.
None more so than in Wagga Wagga where Football Wagga Wagga has facilitated a new youth competition to supplement the already booming seniors tournament run by local club South Wagga Warriors FC
Football Wagga Wagga held its opening night recently with over 130 registered players from over 16 teams at Maher Oval and as expected, all participants enjoyed the evening full of fun, excitement as well as a truck load of goals scored.
Football Wagga Wagga Development Officer Liam Dedini shared his thoughts on the success of the night.
“There was some fantastic football played over the afternoon with kids smiling, laughing and having fun playing the world game with their friends.
“It is fantastic to see the kids loving the game who are playing the sport during summer.”
Football NSW newly appointed Clubs and Participation Officer Michali Aizen was impressed with the huge uptake at Wagga Wagga, a regional city that loves its football.
“The growth of summer football interest in regional areas has increased significantly this year.
“The Football Wagga and South Wagga Warriors collaboration ensures a fun, social and competitive environment for all players in the area”
South Wagga Warriors FC in Wagga Wagga will kick off the senior side of Summer Football on Tuesdays and Thursdays making for a busy 10 weeks of Summer Football fun in Wagga Wagga.
