Manly United will take on the Marconi Stallions in the 2019 TAFE NSW Waratah Cup Semi-Final after defeating the Mount Druitt Town Rangers 2-0 in the Elimination match played at Valentine Sports Park on a chilly Wednesday evening.

In what was a tense opening half, it was Manly who drew first blood early in the second stanza.

Manly United struck gold in the 47th minute albeit in lucky circumstances as a darting Dejan Pandurevic run saw his shot deflect off Rangers defender Blake Thompson, that wrong footed keeper Carlos Saliadarre which gave the Northern Beaches side a 1-0 lead.

Paul Dee’s men further extended their lead in the 61st minute when two future Manly United senior stars combined as Max Rogers played in a delightful ball to the feet of Jaime Glover who slotted home for what was to be the sealer.

Manly booked a spot to face the Stallions in a match set for Wednesday 3rd July with the venue to be announced shortly while the other semi-final sees Sydney United 58 facing National Premier Leagues 2 NSW Men’s outfit St George FC on the same evening.

The TAFE NSW Waratah Cup Final will then take shape on Sunday 14th of July, a trophy that one of the four clubs mentioned, will hope to get their hands on as their first piece of silverware for the 2019 season.
