Digital Marketing Coordinator Role Available

Football NSW is the governing body for Football and Futsal in the Australian state of New South Wales, with the exception of the northern regions of NSW. Located in Glenwood, Sydney, Football NSW is a member of the national governing body, Football Australia (FA). 

With over 230,000 registered players, Football NSW is the largest member federation in Australia and the largest State Sporting Organisation. Football NSW governs 32 member-associations and runs several elite semi-professional competitions that are just below the top tier of professional football in Australia, the A-League.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Digital Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for the development and implementation of a digital marketing strategy that supports the objectives of Football NSW (FNSW) with a focus on driving membership engagement and audience growth.

The position will maintain FNSW websites, support the development/maintenance of Association websites, and coordinate electronic direct mail (eDM) campaigns. The role will also involve the planning and coordination of content across FNSW’s social media channels.

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of key marketing concepts and proficiency with content management systems. Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, they will have the ability to identify and produce content that effectively promotes FNSW programs, partnerships and initiatives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Digital Marketing & Communications

  • Develop and implement a digital marketing strategy encompassing all FNSW websites and digital communication mediums driving engagement and growth.
  • Develop and coordinate FNSW websites to ensure the effective communication and promotion of news, programs, initiatives, and partnerships.
  • Draft, edit and upload content to the website in consultation with the Media Manager and other FNSW departments.
  • Assist in the setup, maintenance and support of all FNSW Association websites within the WordPress multisite environment.
  • Coordinate the implementation of an annual eDM calendar, ensuring brand consistency and professional correspondence with stakeholders.
  • Explore avenues for improving user experience and generating new opportunities through the website.
  • Work with FNSW Associations, Clubs and external service providers to develop professional digital communications.
  • Monitor FNSW social channels, report critical issues and work with the Media Manager to develop appropriate responses.
  • Monitor key digital metrics utilising data to inform decisions.
  • Support the development and ongoing implementation of internal communications initiatives.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify promotional opportunities.

General

  • Provide general support to the Marketing and Communications team.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of major FNSW & Football Australia events.
  • Ensure activities comply with the relevant legislative requirements e.g. Copyright / Privacy Laws and guidelines for acquiring images of children.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience with content management systems (proficiency with WordPress is highly desirable).
  • Experience designing email marketing campaigns (proficiency with MailChimp highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of HTML code.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Experience in driving digital communication strategy to drive online engagement and strengthen brand messages.
  • Experience in digital data and insights (utilising online tools such as Google Analytics is desirable).
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro) is desirable.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATION:

2+ years’ experience in a relevant or similar role.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Flexible work hours may be required from time to time including night and weekend work
  • Working with Children Number for paid workers (ability to obtain one)
  • Commitment to FNSW values, behaviours and culture
  • Candidate must have work rights in Australia
  • Current driver’s license
