🚨 Around the Grounds @ Arlington Oval🚨
Known as one of the crowning jewels in the Canterbury & Districts Soccer Football Association’s facilities cabinet, the historic Arlington Oval precinct has played host to the world game since its early beginnings in 1932.
Built in 1932 with a natural grass playing surface and grandstand which had previously been used as brick works, the Oval played host to thousands of football matches including Association, Club, NSL and NPL football seeing a cluster of former Matildas and Socceroos grace the surfaces until it received a major upgrade when the venue received a $2.15 million makeover.
This included the installation of a new synthetic pitch as well as improved lighting, new fencing and other general improvements headlining it as one of the hottest traditional and iconic football venues in NSW.
With football played all year round now thanks to the artificial surface, Arlington Oval has long been a famous heirloom for the locals in the Inner West area who also use the facility doing their own fitness amongst other activities.
Both Dulwich Hill FC and Stanmore Hawks utilise the venue while the local CDSFA association also stages matches for their respective competitions during the winter periods.
