From Round 16 Spirit FC took nine points from their clash with Mounties Wanderers, winning the 13s 4-2, the 14s 3-2and the 16s 21- while the Wanderers claimed the points with victories in the 15s 2-0 and the 18s 3-2?
In a Round 15 match NSWIS and Granville Rage battled out a 3-3 draw while in Round 16 action Granville Rage were 3-1 winners over Macarthur Rams in the 16s and then 4-0 in the 18s.
Club Championship
It looks as though it will be a race in two to claim the title as Club Champions. Sydney University have a lead of four points at this stage over Central Coast Mariners but it seems certain that there will be a change or two to the pecking order before season?s end.
Western NSW Mariners are forty points further back in third place with Fraser Park and Spirit FC locked together and only a point behind Western while Mounties Wanderers are seven points further adrift at sixth.
The Wanderers are a mere two points ahead of Macarthur Rams and then there is a break of seven points to Granville Rage with Northern Tigers another four points away.
Then they is a break of twenty points to Dulwich Hill, another nineteen points to Bankstown Berries with Bankstown City Lions tailing off, three points further back.
Grade 13
It looks as though the top seven teams will fight it out for places in the finals series and there could well be several changes in the pecking order over the next few weeks.
Dulwich Hill are the current competition frontrunners by a margin of three points and they are followed by Sydney University and Central Coast Mariners who are separated by goal difference.
Then there is a gap of five points to fourth placed Mounties Wanderers who are a point in front of Macarthur Rams and then comes Spirit FC and Western NSW Mariners in sixth and seventh position and they are separated by goal difference.
Granville Rage are ten points further adrift and they have a buffer of three points on the Skilleroos and Bankstown City Lions while Fraser Park are two points further away.
Northern Tigers and Bankstown Berries are occupying the bottom two places on the table.
Grade 14
It seems that the teams in the top five have already been settled although there is every chance that there will be changes in the pecking order. Any other team would need to get their skates on now and produce a solid string of very good results.
Sydney University have a competition lead of six points over Central Coast Mariners who are three points clear of third placed Western NSW Mariners.
Then there is a gap of five points to four placed Macarthur Rams who are one points ahead of fifth placed Granville Rage.
They are followed by a gap of seven points to Dulwich Hill and Fraser Park who have an advantage of three points over eighth and ninth placed Bankstown City Lions and Spirit FC.
Mounties Wanderers and Northern Tigers are in tenth and eleventh position and Bankstown Berries are bringing up the tail of the field.
Grade 15
There could be several changes to the appearance of the top five over the next few weeks with as many as eight teams still having a chance of reaching the play-offs.
Sydney University are leading the way by a single point and they are being closely followed by Central Coast Mariners with Western NSW Mariners, Fraser Park and Mounties Wanderers two points back in third, fourth and fifth positions.
There is then a gap of six points to sixth placed Granville Rage with Northern Tigers only two points behind Rage and Spirit FC are one point further back at eighth.
Ninth placed Bankstown Berries are three points behind Spirit and they are followed by Macarthur Rams who are four points further away. They bottom two places are occupied by Bankstown City Lions and Dulwich Hill.
Grade 16
On the surface it seems that the top five positions have already been decided but, with so many game yet to be played anything cab still happen so the teams at the top will be taking some care.
Central Coast Mariners are the competition leaders by a margin of three points at this stage and they are being pursued by Fraser Park who are four points ahead of third placed Spirit FC. Northern Tigers and Sydney University are just two points further back and they are separated by goal difference.
Then there is a gap of seven points to sixth placed Granville Rage who have an advantage of two points over Mounties Wanderers and then three more points to Macarthur Rams.
Bankstown City Lions are three points further away at ninth and they are followed by Dulwich Hill, Bankstown Berries and Western NSW Mariners.
Grade 18
It may take until the last day of the competition to discover which teams have qualified for the play-offs and which teams have missed out as all of the top eleven teams still have a chance of making it.
