New Referee Scholarship

Do you have what it takes to become a referee?

Football NSW are looking for females who are interested in becoming either football or futsal referees. Scholarships include:

  • Course cost of Level 4 Referee (or Futsal Referee) Course run by FNSW
  • Referee starter pack
  • Laws of the Game book
  • Kappa referee shirt
  • An invitation to attend the Proctor Park Challenge in Bathurst, held during a weekend in early February 2023 as a referee. Your food, accommodation and a travel allowance will be included as part of your invitation

NOMINATIONS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR THE NEW REFEREE SCHOLARSHIP. Scholarship recipients for this intake have been contacted. You may be contacted for the next intake in October 2024 if you have submitted a nomination but have not yet been accepted.

Referee Upgrade Scholarship

Already a qualified referee and looking to further progress in your refereeing career?

If you already have a referee qualification and are ready to upgrade, this scholarship is for you. This scholarship includes:

  • Course cost for upgrade course (either Level 3, 2 or 1) run by FNSW
  • Coaching on live matches
  • Laws of the Game book
  • An invitation to attend the Proctor Park Challenge in Bathurst, held during a weekend in early February as a referee. Your food, accommodation and a travel allowance will be included as part of your invitation.

Referee upgrade courses will be run throughout 2024; once scheduled you will be contacted regarding the status of your nomination and scholarship.

Referee Coach Scholarship

Passionate about developing and supporting the next cohort of female referees?

This scholarship is for qualified female referees who are interested in getting their assessor qualification to coach and mentor young up and coming referees.

Scholarship includes:

  • Course cost of Level 3 Referee Assessor Course run by FNSW
  • Mentoring on a match where you coach a young referee
  • Referee coach notebook and Laws of the Game book
  • An invitation to attend the Proctor Park Challenge in Bathurst, held during a weekend in early February as a referee coach. Your food, accommodation and a travel allowance will be included as part of your invitation.
