Do you have what it takes to become a referee?
Football NSW are looking for females who are interested in becoming either football or futsal referees. Scholarships include:
- Course cost of Level 4 Referee (or Futsal Referee) Course run by FNSW
- • Referee starter pack – Flags, whistle, Referee Cards & Wallet
- Laws of the Game book
- Kappa referee shirt
- Link to local Referee Branch

Female Referee Mentor Program
This first-of-its-kind program launched in 2025 builds on the foundation laid by recent NSW Football Legacy scholarship program initiatives, continuing to foster opportunities and promote gender diversity within football officiating. The Mentoring Program aims to provide a valuable platform for Level 3 and Level 4 female referees who will learn from experienced referees, enhancing their skills, confidence, and leadership qualities. Through personalised guidance, practical insights and ongoing support, these referees will be better equipped to excel in their careers and contribute to the growth of women’s participation in football officiating across NSW and beyond.
Football NSW will be working alongside Referee Branches to identify mentors and mentees. Any interested referees are encouraged to discuss this opportunity with their Branches.
