Empowering women in football goes beyond the field. It’s about creating opportunities for players to excel, cultivating strong leaders, and fostering a community where female footballers feel supported, valued, and ready to take on the world—both on and off the field.
The recent Women’s World Cup has ignited a passion for women’s football like never before, showcasing extraordinary talent and inspiring a new generation of players. As we celebrate the remarkable growth in the women’s game thus far, we recognize the importance of nurturing an environment where women and girls can thrive—not just on the field, but also in leadership and volunteer roles.
Football NSW is proud to partner with the NSW Office of Sport to deliver the Empower Her – Asian Cup Legacy Program and the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care to deliver the Play Your Way Program.
At the forefront of a transformative movement, women’s football is not just a sport—it’s a powerful catalyst for change. This continued support and the opportunity to host another major women’s tournament enables FNSW to invest in a variety of initiatives aimed at continuing the development and growth of the game for women and girls. As participation rates soar and visibility increases, the growth of women’s football is reshaping societal norms, inspiring countless young girls to chase their dreams on and off the pitch.
