Football NSW in conjunction with the FFA held a Gala Day at Doonside Public School on Friday 15th of November as part of the governing body’s promotion of the round ball game to future footballers.

Over 200 kids from Kindergarten right up to Year 6 took part in the FFA’s 5-A-Side visit in what was an enthralling day for all involved.

Football NSW Technical Coordinator Nadine Shiels along with Football NSW Development Officer and former Matildas star Renee Rollason both took the budding young football starts through training drills and skills as well as a special 5-a-side football match.

“It was great to see the wonderful smiles on all the kids,” said Rollason.

“They were a very excited group of kids who really wanted to learn more about our wonderful game.

“Hopefully this will encourage them to continue playing our sport or to take up football.”

The youngsters were not only treated to some football skills but also received a special football gift-pack.
