One of the biggest school sports competitions in Australia promises to deliver another exciting edition full of skill, drama and passion.

This year’s Championships kicked off in Katoomba as the Blue Mountains’ best squared off to find out who will be going to Penrith at this year’s State Championships in July.

Thomas Daniels from Katoomba High School is extremely enthusiastic about what the Championships have provided to his school.

Futsal has given an amazing opportunity for Katoomba High School students to participate in the sport they love.

“Everyone in the KHS community is very supportive of this excellent opportunity that the students are given to represent our school. Bring on State Championships.”

The next stop for the Championships was the South Coast as Wollongong was treated to a spectacular tournament full of goals.

Phillip Saunders from Wollongong High School of Performing Arts has been effusive in his praise of how the Futsal Schools Championships has raised the profile of the sport not only at his school, but in the South Coast region.

“Being a performing arts school, it’s fantastic to see the passion and commitment of the students towards the sport and seeing that translate into success on the court. With the South Coast Taipans having recently gained promotion to the Football NSW Futsal Premier League, futsal continues to grow in strength in the region.”
