St George Football Association’s Carss Park FC and the winder football community are launching a special needs football program, ‘St George Warriors’, with the launch set for this Saturday April 18th at Parkside Drive.

The memorable launch will take shape this Saturday at 11am with kick-off scheduled at 11:30am at its spiritual home ground namely Charles Pirie Fied.

This vision has stemmed from the late Carss Park President and prominent St George football administrator Darryl Hancock.

Catering for children with special needs, the St George Warriors be fully integrated into the mainstream St George Football Association competition.

Two teams will be represented in the form of an U7s and U11s squad showcasing players from the ages of 5 right through to 13.

Hancock’s wife, Penny, said her late husband’s vision of bring the special needs football opportunity to the mainstream is strongly endorsed by St George Football Association and all concerned.

“The enthusiasm displayed by all involved showed that the legacy of Darryl will continue through football for all.

“I thank everyone across all organisations who assisted making this happen.

“We wish to especially acknowledge Darryl’s company Life without Barriers, The Poletti Corporation and Rentokil for their generous support.

“This puts Football NSW’s mantra in place – that football is indeed for all,” she stated to the Sutherland Shire Leader.

“We are very excited to be only the second entity in Sydney to be providing this opportunity for all children and players to participate and full engage in mainstream football.”
